This
most unusual Wade NatWest piggy bank came to our attention quite
recently. He is an original Wade Maxwell who has undergone the rock
treatment and is now affectionately known as Rockin' Max!!
The
story behind this fascinating character goes back to the release
of the band's debut album in 1986. Their manager had contacts with
the marketing department of NatWest Bank and also the suppliers
of NatWest piggy banks and, following the release of the album,
Phil Denton the band's guitarist, was presented with this special
Maxwell. It is assumed that he was 'adapted' by someone at Wade,
although they deny that officially it has anything to do with them!
This
first public debut of Rockin' Max coincides with the bands recent
re-launch and, whilst the new album 'The Idol' will be available
to all rock fans, regrettably Max is staying with the band and is
not for sale!!
